Caring for Cognitive Impairment campaign

The Commission's Caring for Cognitive Impairment campaign aims to provide better outcomes and experiences for patients with cognitive impairment in hospitals, and for their loved ones and staff who care for them. By improving knowledge and care practices, the risk of harm in hospital can be reduced.

This Caring for Cognitive Impairment campaign is helping hospitals prepare for the new cognitive impairment items in the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards (second edition).

There is a wealth of information regarding cognitive care on the campaign website, including campaign resources, videos, initiatives undertaken by  local hospitals and stories of people with cognitive impairment and those helping to care for them.

There are also new cognitive impairment resources to support the implementation of the NSQHS Standards (2nd ed.).
